StringsTheory offers two subscription tiers. Both include the full native Mac and iPad app with offline-first architecture. The Annual plan adds cloud-powered features for shops that need multi-device access and team management.

Every new installation of StringsTheory comes with a 7-day free trial that gives you full access to all Annual plan features. No credit card required -- just download and start using the app.

• Download StringsTheory from the website or Mac App Store
• Open the app -- your 7-day trial begins automatically
• You get access to every feature: cloud sync, team management, web app, unlimited email, and more
• A banner in the app shows how many trial days remain
• When you are ready to continue, purchase a license key and enter it in Settings → Account

The trial is designed to give you enough time to import your data, set up your categories, connect integrations, and run through a full week of real shop operations before making a decision.

If you started with a Monthly subscription and want to unlock cloud sync, team management, and the web app, upgrading to Annual is straightforward.

• Open Settings → Account in the app
• Click Upgrade to visit the purchase page
• Purchase your Annual subscription at stringstheoryinv.lemonsqueezy.com
• Enter the new license key in Settings → Account
• Your Annual features activate immediately

Your existing data, categories, templates, and integrations are all preserved. The upgrade simply unlocks the additional Annual-tier capabilities on top of everything you already have.

When the 7-day trial ends without a subscription, the app enters read-only mode. Here is exactly what that means:

• All your data is preserved -- nothing is deleted, hidden, or locked away
• You can view all inventory, work orders, customers, BOMs, and production records
• You can search across all your data
• You can export your data at any time via CSV export and JSON backup
• You cannot create new records, edit existing records, or sync with integrations

To restore full access, purchase a Monthly or Annual subscription and enter the license key in Settings → Account. Your data will be exactly as you left it, and all features reactivate instantly.

You can cancel your subscription at any time. There are no contracts, no early termination fees, and no hoops to jump through.

• Log in to your account at stringstheoryinv.lemonsqueezy.com
• Navigate to your active subscription
• Click Cancel Subscription
• Your access continues until the end of the current billing period -- you have already paid for that time and you keep it
• After the billing period ends, the app enters read-only mode

If you decide to come back later, you can resubscribe at any time. Your data remains in the app and a new license key restores full access immediately.

StringsTheory does not offer pro-rated refunds for partial billing periods. When you cancel, you retain access through the end of the period you have already paid for.

• Monthly subscribers: cancel at any point during the month and keep access until the month ends
• Annual subscribers: cancel at any point during the year and keep access until the year ends
• No partial refunds are issued for unused time within a billing cycle
