Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the StringsTheory website located at stringstheoryinv.com (the "Site"), any StringsTheory software applications (each, an "App," and collectively, the "Apps"), and any related online services provided by Dual Stage LLC ("we," "us," or "our").

By accessing the Site or using any App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site or Apps.

1. Use of the Site and Apps

You may use the Site and Apps for lawful purposes only. You agree not to:

Use the Site or Apps in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Site, Apps, or their related systems
Scrape, crawl, or systematically harvest content from the Site without our written permission
Introduce viruses, malware, or other malicious code
Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any App except as permitted by applicable law

2. Intellectual Property

All content on this Site and within the Apps — including text, graphics, logos, images, and code — is the property of Dual Stage LLC or its content suppliers and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works without our prior written permission.

All third-party product names, logos, and brands are the property of their respective owners and are used for identification purposes only.

3. Software Licensing

StringsTheory applications are licensed software, not sold. Downloading, installing, or using any App is subject to the applicable End User License Agreement. These Terms do not modify or replace the EULA.

4. Subscriptions, Purchases, and Billing

Subscription Apps. Some Apps (such as StringsTheory INV) are offered as subscription services. Subscriptions may begin with a free trial period. You will not be charged until the trial period ends. You may cancel at any time during the trial to avoid being billed. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Subscription fees are non-refundable on a pro-rated basis except as required by applicable law.

One-time purchase Apps. Some Apps may be offered as one-time purchases or may be free. For paid one-time purchases, all sales are final except as required by applicable law or the policies of the platform through which you purchased the App (e.g., Apple App Store).

Pricing is subject to change. We will provide reasonable notice of price changes before they take effect.

5. Calculations, Reference Data, and Tools

Some Apps provide calculators, reference databases, and technical tools (such as bias calculators, component calculators, string tension calculators, and tube reference data). These tools are provided for informational and educational purposes only.

All calculations, reference data, and tool outputs are provided "as-is" and are not a substitute for professional electrical safety practices, qualified technician judgment, or manufacturer specifications. You assume full responsibility for how you use the information provided by our Apps. We are not liable for any damage, injury, or loss resulting from reliance on calculations or reference data provided by our Apps.

6. Third-Party Links

The Site and Apps may contain links to third-party websites and services (such as the Apple App Store, Square, Shopify, and Google). These links are provided for your convenience only. We have no control over the content or practices of third-party sites and accept no responsibility for them.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SITE, APPS, AND THEIR CONTENT ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, DUAL STAGE LLC SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE SITE, APPS, OR THEIR CONTENT, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SITE OR APPS SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100), WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

9. Privacy

Your use of the Site and Apps is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

10. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States and the State of Connecticut, without regard to conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction.

11. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective when posted to this page with an updated effective date. Your continued use of the Site or Apps after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
